Recognition from Professional Musicians and Educators"Mr. Dylan’s music teaching became invaluable for the musical development of the young Fukushima musicians. His approach at violin teaching are refreshing, and at time radical, but the results spoke for themselves: Mr. Dylan was able to inspire some of our most beginner players to perform at full sound some of the most challenging pieces of the repertoire, like the Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5. At the same time Mr. Dylan displayed exceptional leadership qualities, that not only helped the students with their personal development, but also supported the team of music professionals that were also assisting this project." Panos Karan Read the full referral letter on Vov's teaching from Panos Karan from Keys Of Change During our own performances and recordings, I am aware of his attention to detail, accurate intonation and reading ability, innate rhythmic feeling, as well as his ability to improvise and capture the style of my compositions. I have also observed some teaching master classes that he has presented, and accompanied some of his students for their HSC exams, and am impressed by the quality of his instrumental teaching. Australia’s music scene is enriched by having a musician of such excellence contributing his expertise to the contemporary classical concert scene. Dr Margaret Brandman Parental Endorsements of Teaching Practice:"My son starting taking weekly Skype lessons with Vov two years ago shortly after his 5th birthday and has since attained high distinctions in all ABRSM examinations up to grade 4. In addition, Vov's ambitious teaching approach of pursuing a more advanced repertoire concurrently with the exam syllabus has seen my son perform public performances of two of Vivaldi's Four Seasons concertos to some critical acclaim". C.E "Vov has been teaching my 10 year old son Gabriel since last year. Gabriel enjoys his lessons and he has been improving alot. Vov makes the lessons interesting and motivates Gabriel to work hard. He is the best Violinist in Sydney! I can thoroughly recommend him." G.S "Vov is a stunning violinist as well as a very patient teacher. Through Vov’s training Charlie has developed a love of music and is inspired to improve and grow. Vov has a whimsical sense of humour which adds value and can make the lessons fun. Charlie is so lucky and proud to be Vov’s student. " R.W. "It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have you as Andrew's violin teacher over the past 12 years. Andrew has enjoyed learning from you. Thank you for your wonderful support and encouragement to Andrew. Your time and tireless efforts to prepare Andrew as a composer and violinist have been greatly appreciated." C.D. |

About Vov DylanVov Dylan is an Australian violinist, recording artist, and educator whose career combines international performance, chart-topping recordings, and more than a quarter century of dedicated teaching. His albums have reached No. 1 on the ARIA Classical and Classical Crossover charts, including Kismet: Vignettes for Violin and Piano — the highest-selling Australian classical album of 2022 — and La Vida Apasionada with composer Dr Margaret Brandman. He has performed in major venues across Australia and internationally, appeared frequently on ABC Classic FM and commercial radio, and collaborated with leading Australian composers including Elena Kats-Chernin, Margaret Brandman, Ann Carr-Boyd and Ross Edwards. Alongside an active performing career, Vov has maintained a continuous and dedicated violin teaching practice for over two decades. Since 1998, Vov’s studio has consistently produced students who achieve distinction results in AMEB, ABRSM and HSC examinations, gain scholarships and tertiary music placements, hold leadership roles in school and youth orchestras, and progress into professional musical careers. His teaching draws not only on traditional technical foundations, but on practical performance experience, interpretation, stagecraft, and musical communication at a professional level. In 2025, Vov was honoured with a Teachers Award from the Hong Kong Victoria International Music Competition, recognising his contribution to student development and music education across international platforms. Vov is regularly invited to present to educators, including at the Australian String Teachers Association National Conference, and co-developed the education program Australia’s Musical Canvas with Dr Margaret Brandman and pianist John Martin, aligning contemporary Australian repertoire with HSC and AMEB study. On this topic of new Australian music, Vov has been published twice in the AUSTA (Australian String Teachers Association) magazine Stringendo and has also been the subject of in depth feature interviews on Fine Music FM He is also actively involved in international outreach through the charity Keys of Change, working in Ghana, Japan and other regions to bring meaningful music education to communities with limited access. One of his students in Ghana completed a Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree studying entirely through online lessons. Former students from this studio have gone on to become violin teachers themselves, while others now perform professionally across classical and world music stages — a reflection of the long-term musical foundations developed through their study. From his studio in Thornleigh on Sydney’s North Shore — and online to students across Australia and overseas — Vov works with students from beginner level through to advanced performers preparing for examinations, competitions, HSC performance, and tertiary music pathways. |
