Classical Performance

Vov Dylan’s classical work centres on recital and chamber repertoire drawn from the late Romantic and early twentieth-century canon. A sold-out performance at the Sydney Opera House with pianist Panos Karan featured the Franck Violin Sonata, alongside recital programmes with John Martin that regularly include works by Kreisler, Elgar and Debussy. Further appearances have been presented at Melbourne Recital Centre, Glen Street Theatre, Wollongong Town Hall and the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba, with live-to-air broadcasts on Fine Music 2MBS-FM, alongside regular features on ABC Classics as well as 3MBS-FM and 4MBS-FM. Recordings such as Romantic Classics with Glenn Amer and repertoire from The Band Played On: Music of the Titanic are recording highlights of this repertoire.

Crossover & Touring Productions

Alongside recitals, Vov has developed touring productions including Sentimental Journey and Beyond the Danube, presented with pianist Glenn Amer or with the Palace Orchestra. These programmes are a celebration of what is popular music from all genres and periods. One of Vov's greatest joys is in showcasing his love of the Violin, and surprising people with the musical power and relatability of the instrument.
Releases under the independent label Ambition have achieved multiple ARIA Classical and Crossover No.1 results, and performances range from Australian theatre circuits to international engagements, including an audience of 15,000 in Taiwan for the opening of a major new venue.
Through these shows Vov has collaborated with artists including Mary-Jess, Toni Lamond, Enzo Toppano, Martin Harkens, Janet Seidel, Nikki Bennet, Derek Metzger and more.

Contemporary Australian Music

A significant part of Vov’s recent career has been devoted to the commissioning, premiering and recording of contemporary Australian composition. During the COVID period alone, nearly fifty works were written for him.
Key collaborators include Elena Kats-Chernin, Margaret Brandman, Ann Carr-Boyd and Stuart Greenbaum. The premiere of Kismet: Vignettes for Violin and Piano at the Sydney Opera House with Pianist Clemens Leske was followed by a No.1 ARIA debut within three days of release, and La Vida Apasionada achieved the same result in March 2025. Every work within the Australia’s Musical Canvas initiative is now listed by the Australian Music Centre as recommended repertoire for HSC study in New South Wales and Victoria.
Being entrusted as premiere artist for new works remains a defining responsibility within his professional life.
