This collection of over 10 new works, world premiers and associated performances was born from COVID inactivity, where Violinist Vov Dylan and Composer Elena Kats-Chernin found time to grow from musical friends to musical collaborators and in the process delving into the vast array of music that Elena has composed.

Renowned Australian Pianist Clemens Leske joined the project and together with Vov and Elena, a program of delightful, personal, playful and extremely musical vignettes was curated.

During the 2021 lockdowns, Vov, Clemens and numerous other guest performers were able to record these works. They have been recorded in extreme high definition and will be the first collection of works by an Australian Composer to be released in this format.

This collection is the first album of new music like this from Elena Kats-Chernin in over a decade and also marks the first artistic collaboration between Vov Dylan and Clemens Leske.

Australian violinist Vov Dylan and pianist Glenn Amer have a musical collaboration spanning nearly 20 years, countless tours and 8 albums. Their latest venture, "The Moon Represents My Heart," introduces a new chapter in their musical journey, enriched by the captivating vocals of Mary-Jess.

For both Vov Dylan and Glenn Amer, this single release comes off the back of their recent charting albums of “The Music Of Richard Rodgers Without Words” (AIR top 20 charts debut) and Vov Dylan’s Kismet (Highest charting Australian classical album of 2022). Over the decades, this musical partnership has been about a celebration of good melodies and bringing memories to audiences in every medium possible.

Enter Mary-Jess, the voice that adds a new dimension to their collaboration. As the winner of "The Chinese X Factor," Mary-Jess brings international acclaim and a beautiful soprano tone to the mix. Her role as the voice of Downtown Abbey adds an extra layer of versatility and international appeal to this ensemble.

"The Moon Represents My Heart," one of the most beloved Chinese songs of all time, originally introduced by Teresa Teng, takes centre stage in this collaboration.

The track is being released on the eve of their joint tour in Taiwan from December 14, featuring not only Vov, Glenn and Mary Jess, alongside Vov’s Palace Orchestra.

Set to stream on December 8 and presented by Ambition Entertainment, the single not only celebrates the trio's musical prowess but also pays homage to a cultural icon.

For the first time, Vov Dylan collaborates with acclaimed producer Michael Cristiano, amplifying the anticipation surrounding this release and marks the first of several releases in coming months from Vov Dylan and Glenn Amer celebrating music from China.

Bio on Mary Jess:

Mary-Jess, the English rose who won the "Chinese X Factor" live on Chinese TV to 70 million people. She performed the Downton Abbey theme song for the Official Soundtrack albums, and has also lent her voice to Marvel soundtracks. She was the first British woman to be accepted in to Lord Wei’s Diaspora Emerging Leadership Program in the House of Lords. After Mary-Jess performed at The GREAT Festival of Creativity in Shanghai, she was invited to Number 10 Downing Street where she was asked by His Majesty’s Government to become the next representative of ‘The GREAT Britain Campaign’ as an ambassador for UK music in 144 countries around the world.

This album “The Music of Richard Rodgers Without Words” focuses on the first portion of his significant career and his collaborations with lyricist Lorenz Hart. This album is also a celebration of Love where every track is about being in love, falling in love, or farewelling love. The track which set the tone of the album was “My Funny Valentine” where one line of lyric “……you make me smile with my heart….” became the goal of the audio experience…….
