Marinella Waltz – VDC-007
For violin and piano, with optional double bass

Written in memory of the celebrated Greek singer Marinella, this expressive concert waltz combines lyrical warmth, elegance and theatrical nostalgia.

The work was commissioned for the 2026 Marinella tribute production and received its world-premiere performance at Sydney’s State Theatre in 2026.

The violin carries the principal melody through sweeping phrases and expressive changes of colour, supported by a richly shaped piano accompaniment. An optional double bass part adds further warmth and depth, making the work equally suitable for recital performances, intimate concert programmes and commemorative occasions.

Designed for advanced violinists, Marinella Waltz offers performers an opportunity to explore sustained melodic playing, expressive phrasing and the natural rise and fall of the waltz style.
