A third generation musician and a second generation Violinist, Vov grew up with music in every aspect of his life. Making his first debut in newspapers at the age of 21 months old, there was no stopping him. At 6 years of age, Vov had his first paid performance and the world began to open up.
The title 'prodigy' is one that Vov is uneasy with, rather he refers to himself as someone that has "always played the Violin......it is like breathing".
Vov soon found that where many peers focused on a style of music being Classical or Jazz or Gypsy etc - he became focused on the Violin, leading him to have an appreciation and an ability to play all styles of music on the one instrument in Vov's words "I play the Violin because I LOVE the Violin, not because of a style of music or a particular piece - rather, I like to find a way to make the Violin sing any piece of music - whether it is written for the Violin or not!".
With this approach, Vov has ammassed a performance repertoire that is enormous. Comfortable performing everything from Solo Bach and the mainstream Classical repertoire, to Folk, Gypsy, Continental, Jazz, Hollywood, Broadway, Pop, Rock and even Disco!
2007 saw Vov grow from being 'support act' Violinist to headline entertainer where he formed THE PALACE ORCHESTRA and went on tour in Australia performing light popular classics. This show led Vov to be hailed as "Australia's Answer to Andre Rieu", and helped to establish him as one of his generations leading instrumental variety performers in Australia.
In 2014 Vov gained the title of WORLD'S FASTEST VIOLINIST by performing Flight Of The Bumblebee in 38.1 seconds - an amzing 22.5 notes per second ( a title Vov still holds at the writing of this website) a recording contract with FANFARE CLASSICS - a label specialising in Adult Contemporary Music - soon followed, and Vov's back catalogue and new recordings are now available in music stores across Australia and New Zealand and in multiple other regions around the globe.
Vov has now been nominated for Australian Instrumental Entertainer of The Year in 2016, 2017 and 2018, his performance business has been nominated for Local Business Awards in 2016 and 2017, and as a teacher he excells with students from across the globe encompassing all levels from beginner to professionals, performing for exams, eisteddfodds, scholarships and for the love of it.
Added to this, Vov in 2018 is starting an association with KEYS OF CHANGE and is flying to nations across the globe to give masterclasses and most importantly help pass on the passion of the Violin to the next generation.
