WEDDING MUSIC FAQ

How and when do we make a booking?

Firstly, you need to contact me via phone or e-mail to find out our availability.

While we are sometimes available at short notice, many couples book their musicians months in advance - so it is good to contact us as soon as you have set your wedding date.

Once the date is set, and we have been in contact, I will send you a confirmation invoice, and the booking will be locked in.

Do you do outdoor weddings?

Yes, we play inside or out. Please notify us when booking if there is to be an outside portion of the performance so we can bring appropriate equipment (including chairs that won't damage gardens, outdoor instruments, and heavy music stands so the music won't fly in a gust of wind)

For outdoor wedding ceremonies, please bring some large umbrellas that one or 2 nominated guests can hold over us, should there be a slight drizzle - this way we can keep playing.

For hot/sunny days it is best for us to have a shady position.

If we have our ceremony starting at (for example) 2pm, what time should the musicians start playing?

We start playing 15 minutes before the bridal party is due to arrive (this is when most guests arrive). We are however in the area of the ceremony 30 minutes prior to this time for set-up. If the guests start to arrive early, we will start early and keep the atmosphere going throughout.

How do we decide which ensemble/combination of musicians to book?

This is largely based on a)how many guests you have, and what will be the best group to be heard by all b) what your musical tastes are. Please contact me, and I will ask a few questions, and we will soon discover the best ensemble for your wedding.

How do we select the music for our Ceremony?

One of the key cornerstones of this business is that we play the music that the clients want to hear. With this in mind, if you know the pieces that you would like, please e-mail them through when making a booking, alternatively, if you are unsure, please visit either my Parramatta or Ramsgate studio where I can go through the music selection with you for all parts of the ceremony, to tailor make it to suit your style and personality as a couple.

What Music Do You Play?

Our selections cover everything from the traditional wedding marches and classics through to the latest Beyonce, Robbie Williams and Michael Buble hits, with jazz, gypsy, pop, rock, disco all thrown in. The only style which we haven't successfully melded with our instruments is Rap.

We normally do a 'mixed programme' which is something for everyone, to keep the overall atmosphere happy and bubbly. If however you want a more 'stylised' programme this is also available, please discuss with us what your requests are.

Do you play requests?

YES! If there are special ones for the bridal party, please let us know before the ceremony, however even on the day, between all the musicians booked to entertain you, we have most requests of family and guests in hand.

How do you dress?

The men are in formal dinner suits and the ladies are in predominantly black evening wear.

How do we pay?

Most couples prefer to do a 'direct deposit' of the full amount prior to the wedding.

We are also able to accept cash or cheque on the day of the wedding

We now also have Credit Card facilities which can be processed on location. Please note though that this facility has an extra 5% charge.

Once we make a booking, is it secure?

We operate on a 'first in first served' basis - with no compromise to this.

After all these years of doing weddings, do you still enjoy them?

In a word, Yes.

To answer 'Why?'is a little more complicated! .........people can go to concerts at any time - there are always some orchestras, or quartets, or bands etc playing somewhere. Concerts are the 'high profile' side of the music industry.

Being invited to participate in someone's wedding is however one of the greatest privileges. Most people get married only once, and the music that will be played will often be remembered by the bridal couple for the rest of their lives, and as such the role that we play in someone's wedding is far more personal experience and of greater importance than playing in any on stage performance.

Further to this, we book the best professional musicians, and it is often a party for us as much as it is for the guests.

If we have more questions, are you happy to answer them?

Yes, this is a service industry, should you have any questions relating to music for your wedding, please feel free to contact me at any time. Also, should you require any advise on other wedding service providers, I am able to help with this also.

I look forward to looking after the music for your wedding.
